Terms and Conditions

Right, the legal stuff.

Don’t trust anything you see or read on this web site.

Ok, now we’ve that out of the way, let’s then also simply say that all the information supplied on this site, especially the reports, has been supplied by third parties or by the ski areas themselves. If it’s wrong then as they say – don’t shoot the messenger!  Ski areas don’t always get it right, but let’s be fair - weather and snow conditions in this country change insanely quickly. The point then is, always assess the weather and road conditions yourself before setting off for the day. Check road conditions at sites like AA Road Watch, and of course check the weather.

There are some pretty simple things to do when on or heading to the slopes:

  1. Always assess the conditions and check the weather before you go – things change quick in the NZ mountains
  2. Always carry chains when driving
  3. Drive slowly up mountain roads.

And always remember the snow responsibility code:

  1. Give way to others
  2. Stay in control at all times
  3. People below you have the right of way
  4. Always use a spotter when jumping
  5. Stop where you can be seen. Move to the outside of a trail
  6. Brakes or leashes must be used to help prevent runaway equipment
  7. If you are involved in, or witness an accident, remain at the scene and identify yourself to Ski Patrol
  8. Obey all Ski Area signage
  9. Respect the safety and enjoyment of others
